十大外围app: 4.Fall 2016 Graduate student position (PhD), Oceanography, University of Oregon

Ice-ocean interactions Description:

The ocean’s role in influencing the cryosphere is being increasingly recognized across multiple time and space scales, from decadal variations to how fjord circulation can modulate submarine melt rates of Greenland’s outlet glaciers seasonally.

Coastal and estuarine oceanography in the PNW Description:

The hydrodynamics of the coastal and estuarine regions of the Pacific Northwest (PNW) modulate variations in productivity, nutrient availability, and dissolved oxygen levels, as well as the transport of economically-important larvae around the northern California Current system (CCS). Much has been learned over the past decades on the functioning of the coastal upwelling system in the CCS, and how large river systems, such as the Columbia River, may interact with the seasonally varying upwelling currents.
